WORK BELT
designed for electricians.

Design Goal

Create a tool belt that can hold the essential tools for electricians while having a few extra qualities that current tool belts on the market lack

Design Intent

Meet the Client

David is an electrician who is looking for a

tool belt with enough storage to hold all of

his essential tools. He wants a tool belt with

easy accessible pockets, lots of features, and

a belt that is comfortable to wear all day long.

Design Research

Must have space for...

After interviewing a few electrician's, I compiled a list of the top used tools that they use on a day to day basis.

- Screwdrivers

- Pencils

- Tape

- Tape Measure

- Pliers

- Voltage Tester

- Folding Knife

- Folding Saw

- Baby Level

- Circuit Finder

"Some belts are

too big and make

my back hurt. "

"I just need enough room for my favorite tools"

"Some pockets are hard to fit my hands."

"All I need is a pouch to throw whatever

I need in it."

Leather:

- Durable

- Heavier

- Slightly more expensive

- Can withstand carrying heavy tools

Nylon:

- Cheaper

- Lighter

- Loses shape over time

- Durable

After researching both nylon and leather, the chosen material was a black finished leather. The durability, comfort, and luxury appeal of the leather were a few winning factors over the nylon material.
